Gang Up
The 99 outlaws (OGs) were the first hackers and explorers to wander into Dark City.
Seizing the opportunity, they established the foundational gang families on the Dnet, amassing the most power, territory, fortune and members.
Now is your chance to join them.
Recruiting
The first 20 gangs will be led by 5 OGs each.They will be given leadership roles and power over the recruiting, history, trade, rules and lore of the gangs of their choice.
The 5 OG leaders in each gang will be given a spot in Dark City’s Bitmap-based territory – equivalent to a server facility – effectively receiving their own landplot. This means a future % of the earnings of the gang members in-game. Membership in the gangs will be represented by tradeable ordinal inscriptions.
Each gang will also get a first generation box of loot (caches of ordinals) containing in-game items: bioscans, hardware, food, drugs, etc. in different rarities.
OG members of the first gang to reach 100 members will receive the rarest loot in descending order until the last. A high powered server mainframe? A hyper potent set of biometric scans? Expect surprises.
To recruit different members into their gangs, outlaws can offer a share of the spoils from the loot.
Those recruited can also claim similar perks to the OGs: a discount in Dark City’s token (DRK) swap that will start soon and a whitelist spot for the airdrop. DRK will be the currency of the upcoming black market on the Dnet.
HOW IT WORKS
Channels will be created on Discord for each gang. Gang leaders will self-select into each gang until they are full – then start recruiting. Only gang members will be allowed inside.
If you are an OG or Headhunter:
Step 1: Become a leader of one of the 20 gangs by typing the command /gang_leader on Discord and choosing the gang. Maximum 5 OG leaders per gang.
Step 2: Go to dark.city, log in and enter the command gang --invite to generate a gang invitation code. Share the code with the individual you want to recruit to your gang (1 invite per individual).
Step 3: Recruit as many gang members as you can using the invite codes in the recruitment channel. You can also bring in more people from different communities using your social networks and contacts with collab managers.
If you are not an OG
Step 1: Those recruited must use the command /gang_join in the Discord server and insert their Dnet code (find out how to get it here) along with the gang invite code they received from an OG.
Step 2: Enjoy access to your unique gang channel in Dark City’s Discord and start mobilising with your new kin.
