Dark Market

The Dark Market is a platform where players are able to acquire exclusive game items using Dark City’s native TAP token $DRK.

Currently, the market supports the Unisat Wallet and Xverse Wallet. Support for other wallets is in development.

The market supports both Taproot and Native Segwit wallets.

DISCLAIMER: The Dark Market is still in alpha phase, meaning interface bugs might occur. Please be patient and help reporting them as we keep working to enhance the first native TAP token marketplace in the Ordinals ecosystem.

More features and fixes will be released gradually according to our roadmap.

How it works

Buying an item

Step 1: Convert your DRK to DRK credits

  • Connect your wallet and go to the Inventory page.
  • In your Inventory page, click on “Mint transfer” and choose the amount of DRK credits you want to acquire.
  • Wait for the transaction confirmation. Once your transfer inscription is confirmed, click on “Convert to DRK credits”. The conversion rate is 1 $DRK = 1 DRK credit with no fees.
  • Wait for the transaction confirmation. Once your conversion inscription is confirmed, your balance of DRK credits will be updated.
Important: After converting $DRK to DRK credits, you can't convert them back. You can buy as many items as your balance of DRK credits allows you.

Step 2: Use your DRK credits to buy items

  • Select the item you want to acquire in the Explore page, click the “Buy” button and confirm your purchase.
  • Your acquired item will now be shown in your Inventory in the “Off-chain items” tab.

Step 3: Mint your new item (optional)

You don’t need to mint your item to the blockchain to use it in the game. However, if you want to transfer or sell your newly acquired item on secondary marketplaces such as Magic Eden, you need to mint it first.

  • In “Off-chain items” tab, select the item you want to mint and click “Mint”.
  • Wait for the transaction confirmation. Once your minting inscription is confirmed, your item will be shown in the “Minted items” tab.

Note on fees

The Dark Market defaults to higher network fees in order to avoid loss of funds or long periods for processing orders.

If you receive a warning message from Unisat (which tends to calculate fees well below the current fee rate of the network), just click “ok” and continue the process.

FAQ

Why DRK credits?

DRK credits are a way to make users save in network fees when acquiring and exchanging items on the Dark Market. With a single conversion from $DRK to DRK credits, players can acquire multiple items and list them, as well as to transfer DRK credits with no fees.

Do I have to mint the items I acquire?

No, you can still use the items in game if you don’t mint them to the blockchain. This is another mechanism to help users save in network fees.

However, if you want to exchange or transfer your item as an Ordinal personally or on secondary markets such as Magic Eden, you need to mint them first.

What are the market fees?

Zero. Users only need to pay network fees in order to convert their $DRK to DRK credits.
