Gangs

Gangs are groups of players playing together under the same identity, tradition, rules and lore. Gangs are led by a small group of leaders, they can share resources and undergo group hacks. The reality in Dark City is open-ended and flexible, meaning a gang’s worldview will greatly influence how a user experiences the game.

Foundational Gangs

The first 100 outlaws (OGs) were the earliest hackers and explorers that wandered into Dark City. Seizing the opportunity, they established the foundational gang families on the Dnet, amassing the most power, territory, fortune and members.

The first 20 gangs were led by 5 outlaws. As leaders, they had power over the recruiting, history, trade, rules and lore of their members.

The 5 OG leaders in each gang took over a spot in Dark City’s Bitmap based territory – equivalent to a server facility – capturing a future % of the earnings of their members.

Membership in each gang is represented by tradable ordinal inscriptions. Each foundational gang will receive a first generation lootbox (caches of Ordinals) containing in-game items: bioscans, hardware, food, drugs, etc. in different rarities. The first gang to reach 100 members received the rarest loot in descending order until the last.
